Non-revenue water is one of the biggest challenges that any water distribution network face. In the US alone, more than 10 to 30 percent of treated, processed, and sanitized water is lost or in other terms is never received by the end-consumers. Other than non-revenue water, a water distribution network also face challenges to maintain high-pressure heads, reduce energy bills, and maintain pipelines.
IoT allows water utilities to effectively manage their water distribution network with the help of specially built hardware like sensors, probes, and smart water meters. This technology strengthens the robustness of water distribution systems and help utilities to provide end consumers with potable water in appropriate amounts.
